Veggie Mijas is so excited to announce that we will be having a presentation on what it means to decolonize your lifestyle and prepare a plant-based recipe for teens at the @newmuseum Scamming the Patriarchy Youth Summit in April 13 🌟 its first come, first serve & FREE—make sure to check out the new museum website for more information! This years summit Presenters include A1BAZAAR, Emilia Ortiz, the Free Black Women’s Library, Kei Williams, Movement Netlab, Veggie Mijas, Fariha Róisín, Women of Color in Solidarity, #FreeToo Yoga, and more. This year’s Summit concludes with an after-party featuring rising Baltimore hip-hop artist Lor Choc in the New Museum Theater and Brooklyn-based collective DisCakes in the Sky Room.

Two events fall upon us this month: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• First day of spring 🌼; and ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• International Forest Day 🌳⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
International Forest Day was established by the UN General Assembly to promote importance of forests and trees in our lives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In honor of the two events, Alexis of @thebronxvegan and I have teamed up to lead a forest-bathing walk in the Bronx.

We feel passionately about connecting with the higher powers of Mother Nature. We look forward to sharing his grounding experience with you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

La Morada is an undocumented family owned and operated Oaxaca restaurant in the South Bronx. They have a lot of vegan & vegetarian options and the food is poppppin’ 😍 one of our missions with Veggie Mijas is exposing and supporting POC-owned business—so come through and eat with us! Walk with Mijxs @ New York Botanical Garden

Walk with me + other Veggie Mijxs at the New York Botanical Garden on Wednesday, December 19th! We will be meeting up @ 1:00pm at the Mosholu Enterance. Grounds Admission is FREE for NYC residents. We will all get our tickets when we get there, so no worries about getting it in advance. 

We will also have an opportunity to tour the garden's Edible Academy, which is an educational facility that helps children, families, teachers, and the general public learn about growing and preparing vegetables, fruit, and herbs while encouraging a lifelong interest in gardening, nutrition awareness, and environmental stewardship.

From Veggie Mijas: Hey Veggie Mijxs! On Saturday, September 15th, we will be planting a variety of yerbas such as cilantro and basil with Chef Rose @thisoceanstory, whom is 27, Dominicana and from The Heights Rose has been a chef for over 9 years, mostly fine dining and currently working at The Smiths.
